THE ORIGIN OF V.S.K. JIU-JITSU

V.S.K. or V.S.K. Ryu Jiu-Jitsu is a system of martial arts founded by Grandmaster Anthony Muhammad.

The V.S.K. Ryu style of Jiu-Jitsu that is taught by Grandmaster Anthony Muhammad is derived from hundreds of years of combined training, under three (3) of the most renowned martial artists in the world, Grand Professor Vee (Florendo Visitacion), Dr. Moses Powell (Master Musa Muhammad), and Soke Lil' John Davis.

THE 'V' REPRESENTS: VEE JITSU RYU JIU-JITSU.

Grand Professor Vee (Florendo Visitacion) established the system of Jiu-Jitsu, Vee Jitsu Ryu Jiu-Jitsu. Grand Professor Vee was born June, 11 1910. He started training at the age of 10 with his uncle and other wandering martial artists in the fields of the Philippines.


THE 'S' REPRESENTS: SANUCES RYU JIU-JITSU - “SURVIVAL AND SIMPLICITY”.

Sanuces Ryu Jiu-Jitsu was developed by Dr. Moses Powell (a premier disciple of Professor Vee). It is termed as the “Eye to Eye” art. Dr. Moses Powell is one of the true legends of the martial arts world. He was born January 13, 1941 and grew up in the mean streets of Brooklyn, New York. Martial arts became his escape from the hopelessness of the ghetto, as he began his instruction under Grand Professor Vee. Dr. Powell was the first martial artist invited to demonstrate martial arts at the United Nations and a featured martial arts demonstrator at the New York World’s Fair in 1965.


THE 'K' REPRESENTS: KUMITE RYU JIU JITSU “THE WAY OR ART OF FIGHTING”.

Kumite Ryu Jiu Jitsu was founded by Soke Lil' John Davis “World renowned student of Dr. Moses Powell”. Soke Lil' John Davis is also a Grandmaster in Sanuces Ryu Jiu-Jitsu. He is the product of Grand Professor Vee and Dr. Moses Powell. He is a renowned full-contact fighter and martial arts instructor.

He is responsible for teaching and grooming great martial artists, such as Grand Master Anthony Muhammad, Professor Shabazz and Sensei Stephanie Grier. John Davis, who is respectfully known as Soke (which is the Japanese title for founder) Lil’ John Davis, to his students and peers, was born September 14, 1949.

Grandmaster Anthony Muhammad has combined 40 years of study of these systems of Jiu-Jitsu, along with his studies of: boxing, Kung Fu, Karate, Aikido, Kali and Arnis to develop this system.
